Bridge Inspections

Diving Service Inc. complies with all National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).  We have DOT trained PE divers who are available to perform bridge inspections.  We work with state, federal and private bridge owners whose inspection levels vary with criteria and frequency.  Inspection criteria can range from critical scour, fracture critical members, complex, damage, in-depth to special inspections.

Current projects include:

  • DOT & MA Highway - Scope includes rebuilding of a MA Highway bridge abutment that has deteriorated  due to critical scour.  Underwater cutting and plugging of abandoned sewerage pipes and removal of debris under the bridge due to heavy flooding.  Hydrographic and side scan sonar surveys will be completed to allow for a greater understanding of how washout from the heavy rains will effect the hydraulics of the river.  New footings and abutment will be erected in compliance with MA DOT and NBIS.
